Charteris Global Search are recruiting for a HSSE Manager ideally from a T&D background although other areas will be considered depending upon experience.

This position is to be based in London and covering the South of England for various projects, supporting management on all HSSE issues and ensuring that relevant, responsible advisors and team leaders meet the clients requirements across T&D Operations.

The Role

  • Able to promote an enthusiastic HSSE culture that delivers positive commitment to, and engages all employees in, continuous performance improvement and promotes best practice.
  • Take an active leadership role providing functional management of HSSE personnel under your control
  • Manage day to day client interaction on all HSSE requirements.
  • Lead, support and manage, as required, incident investigations procedures, expectations and present findings as required.
  • Lead planning, coordination and delivery of internal audits for client.
  • Ensure that risk and method statements are fully fit for purpose, have been fully reviewed and authorised accordingly.
  • Identify and raise any areas of HSSE risk to client or senior management as appropriate.
  • Assist in the evaluation of, and maintain proactive relationships with, the Supply Chain
  • Monitor current project work scopes and ensure HSSE support is suitably resourced
  • Ensure robust consultation process with workforce by developing and maintaining strong communication link
  • Provide HSSE support in the preparation of tenders and in the pre-contract stages of new contracts
  • Keep up to date with latest HSSE best practice requirement and provide HSSE coaching skills to A&I Investigations.
  • Mentor and Implement HSSE Team development plans.

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering and ideally HSSE
  • Chartered or working towards IOSH Membership
  • NEBOSH

Experience:

  • Constantly aware of HSSE, recognising and acting on HSSE as the main priority
  • Must have team leadership and key management skills
  • Excellent at building relationships with both clients, peers and board.
  • Energetic, driven and mobile
  • Excellent analytical skills ideally with knowledge of financial management.
  • Commercially aware and able to drive cost savings.
