This month our newsletter is dedicated to a charity we are proud supporters of: SMARTWORKS
Smart Works Charity dresses and trains unemployed women for success at their job interview. Every woman who goes to Smart Works receives a complete outfit of clothes and accessories (hers to keep) and one to one interview coaching. This works – in the last 12 months, 60% of the women that they could contact went on to succeed at interview. Once a woman has a job, they also invite her back to give her a working wardrobe for her return to work.
All the clothes in their beautiful wardrobe are donated from individuals or retailers, and all of their service is delivered by skilled volunteers who regularly give up their time to help style and coach clients. This year, they will help over 3000 women from their 7 locations across the UK – North and West London, Manchester, Birmingham, Edinburgh, Reading and Newcastle. It is their mission to take this fantastic service to as many women as possible, whilst maintaining the impact and quality of their service.
Also announced at the start of this year was that HRH The Duchess Of Sussex became the Royal Patron of Smart Works.
Juliet Hughes-Hallett, Chair and Founder of Smart Works, said:
“Smart Works is thrilled to announce that The Duchess of Sussex will become the Royal Patron of Smart Works. An acknowledged champion of women and their rights worldwide, The Duchess will motivate ever more women to come to our centres and get the job that will transform their lives. The Duchess’s patronage will inspire the women we serve and help them reach for the stars.”
“We have been honoured to welcome The Duchess to our West London centre and see her engage with our clients and volunteers. Her empathy and insight were obvious. The Duchess is a natural coach and our clients were inspired and helped by her.”
